September 14, 20165 Fall Hikes in South Carolina
September 28, 2016South Carolina is a gorgeous place to be, and that’s especially true in the fall. Our trees don’t change color until the very last minute (and if you’re down by the coast you may not notice much of a change at all), but the mild temperatures and lessening humidity make for a great day spent outdoors enjoying sunshine and time with your friends and family!
One way to make the most of this beautiful season? Head out in a Bad Boy Off Road Stampede 900 to check out the Off-Road Vehicle-friendly trails in South Carolina’s wonderful parks! One of the biggest perks of living here in SC is our commitment to safeguarding natural lands for public use, and OHV trails are located throughout the state, so just about anyone can find a spot nearby. Check out our ideas for taking your Bad Boy out this fall!
Did You Know You Can Take Your ATV To SumTer National Forest?
South Carolina maintains multiple off-road trails designed explicitly to be used by those riding dirt bikes or ATVs, and one of the most beautiful trails is the Enoree OHV Trail within Sumter National Forest. The trails and staging area are open mainly for use during the day, but if you’re the type to stay overnight, there’s a nearby camping ground you can use as well.
With 23 miles of mixed-use trails, you’ll have plenty of space to head out and enjoy yourself. There’s no fee to enter or park, but you will need to pay about $5.00 per ATV/off-road vehicle in order to take them out for a ride.
Closer to the Coast? Check Out Francis Marion National Forest!
If you live down by the coast or you’re looking for a change of scenery for a day out on your Bad Boy ATV, Francis Marion National Forest also has areas for taking out ATVs!
Looking to Stay Midstate? Head Over to Carolina Adventure World!
Located north of Columbia, Carolina Adventure World is a great spot for taking out ATVs, specialty vehicles, motorbikes, and more! They have a multitude of trails designed to cater to different vehicles, plenty of space, and even nearby campsites available if you’d like to overnight. An adult day pass is $32, so you’ll want to be prepared to pay to ride, but trust me — Carolina Adventure World makes sure you get your money’s worth!
Before heading out to any of these parks, be sure to call ahead to check for trail closings or delayed openings, and make sure you’re following ATV safety guidelines and are aware of the new government regulations regarding ATV use. Then, head on out and have fun enjoying the trails, the leaves, and — yes — probably a little (or a lot) of mud, too!
