How to Find the Right ATV Helmet For You
January 4, 20175 Safety Tips for DIY Golf Cart Owners
January 25, 2017South Carolina’s Upstate region is really a beautiful place to be — sitting right at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, you can find breathtaking views even just driving towards downtown in Greenville or along Highway 11 in Pickens County.
One of the questions we hear from our customers is just where to find great golf courses to visit here in the Upstate, so we thought we’d take a look at three local options for those gorgeous days when you just want to get out on the green.
1. Village Greens Golf and Country Club in Gramling, SC
Village Greens Golf Club was built out of what was originally a 100-acre farm, and the pear trees that line your drive in are a beautiful reminder of what used to be. When creating the golf course, special care was taken in utilizing the natural water features and landscape that already existed, which makes this course perfect for those who want to enjoy nature while they’re out for a game!
Village Greens is one of our top choices for when we know there’ll be a break for lunch — Dickey’s BBQ is located right onsite and provides good food at great prices.
2. River Falls Plantation in Duncan, SC
River Falls Plantation is located close to Spartanburg, not far off of I-85, and features a Gary Player Signature Design course with 18 holes, able to challenge golfers from beginners to those who have been golfing for years. Bordered by the South Tyger River, it’s a serene, peaceful course perfect for groups both large and small.
Do you have family that isn’t very interested in getting out on the green with you? No problem! During the summer months, River Falls maintains a pool! Between that and their (year-round) bar and grill, every member of the family will be able to really enjoy the visit — even if they’re not exactly enthusiastic about golf.
3. The Preserve at Verdae in Greenville, SC
No list of Upstate golf courses is truly complete unless it mentions The Preserve at Verdae in Greenville! Home for nine years to the Nationwide Tour (formerly known as the Greater Greenville Classic, part of the PGA Tour), the Preserve is a Willard Byrd-designed championship course.
It’s a challenging 18-hole, 72-part course with natural brooks and hills. There’s a putting green, bar and grill, short-game practice green, and all kinds of amenities suited to either providing an experienced golfer with a real challenge or helping a beginner learn.
Our favorite aspect of the Preserve? The Embassy Suites are located right nearby! This is a great option for corporate events or weddings, as the Embassy Suites has a conference center ideally suited for it, and of course Go With Garrett’s would be happy to help you with golf cart rentals for the event.
