3 DIY Golf Cart Projects For Fall

Even though we’re lucky enough not to feel the worst effects of winter here in often-sunny South Carolina, things still get colder and many of our customers find themselves putting their golf carts into storage through December, January, and February. However, just because it’s too chilly to take your golf cart out for a spin, that doesn’t mean you can’t still keep it well-maintained and even add on a new accessory or two this fall before the temperatures drop!

We’ve put together a short list of three great DIY golf cart projects you can work on this winter while your golf cart is in storage. Once you bring it out again in the spring, you’ll feel like you’re driving a whole new cart on the beach, while you get in some time at the golf course, or even just tooling around the neighborhood.

Project #1: Keep Warm With a Golf Cart Enclosure

This one is perfect for those DIY-ers who want to be able to keep using their golf cart throughout the coldest months of the year. E-Z-Go enclosures (which we have available as a customization option or to purchase and install on your own!) are easy to install, and you’ll stay protected from chilly wind, cold rain, or even just the dust or sand whipped up when it hasn’t rained in a while. Enclosures are available for both two and four passenger golf carts, and provide high-quality protection and durability all year long.

Project #2: Add Speakers & Audio Upgrades

Project #3: Shock Absorbers

While many of our Bad Boy, E-Z-Go, Tomberlin, and Cushman options already include top-of-the-line shock absorbers meant for those tougher environments, sometimes our customers are looking for a little extra. Installing your own shock absorbers may help you maintain a smooth ride even in hilly or forested areas. This is an especially great project for those who use golf carts around the farm or to head out hunting or on outdoor adventures.

Front and rear shocks do need replacing over time as well, especially when subjected to heavy use. If you’ve noticed your golf cart’s ride becoming increasingly uncomfortable, worn-out shocks may be the issue.
